Welcome AmeriCorps CSC!

The AmeriCorps Education Award Program at Adams State College is growing and gaining more and more exposure within our community, the San Luis Valley, in Southern Colorado. Our program provides college students, and seniors in high school, with an education award for creating a service project that serves a need in our community and serving hours with or for a non-profit or government agency.

As we watch our program expand and hear our Members’ stories, we decided that we should create a blog, with the intention of sharing our Member’s reflections, providing a way for our community agencies to voice their needs, suggestions, and comments, and informing our fellow neighbors and students of all the ways in which they can be a part of, and be involved with, their community.

To say that you’re a Member of “the AmeriCorps Education Award Program” is to say that you are compassionate about others, that you recognize a need in your community, and that you are here to get things done. As a program grows, a larger population becomes aware of the challenges and the successes, and a movement is created. Our movement of service has become known as: Compact Service Corps/CSC.

AmeriCorps CSC at ASC will be taking applicants as soon as August 8, 2011 to enroll by August 22, 2011- the first day of the fall semester. Make an appointment today!- 719.587.8105 or ascamericorps@adams.edu
